Erim Açikgöz
Erim practises administrative, planning and environmental law in both Brussels and Wallonia, including before the Council of State. He also handles real estate, lease and agricultural law matters.
Public law interests me because it shapes the way we live in, build on and share our land. Planning permits, environmental impact assessments, heritage protection and protected species: behind every case lies an environment or people whose rights need defending. Agricultural law extends this commitment: it questions our relationship with the land and with those who farm it.
I assist individuals, residents' groups, associations and municipalities in both the Brussels-Capital Region and Wallonia.
Across all these areas, I stand by a single conviction: everyone has the right to a healthy environment, and nature and animals deserve to be protected for their own sake.
To deepen my expertise in these fields, after my Master of Laws I completed a programme in environmental management at the ULB and a training course in agricultural techniques and farm economics.
Passing on knowledge matters to me: I teach contract law at EPHEC, agricultural law at FUGEA, and beekeeping law at the Société royale d'apiculture de Bruxelles.
I work in French, Turkish and English, and I can also communicate with clients in Dutch and Italian.
I joined EQUAL because its vision matches my own idea of the profession: law that is useful, accessible and serves a fairer, more sustainable living environment.
